I know you can hear me talking, but do you hear me what I’m saying
We sing someone else’s song, find comfort knowing we’re not the only one wrong
Might as well be mine, everything else is
We’re all alone at the center of the universe wishing someone could hear us singing
But I just don’t know anymore
Because we’ve all fallen in love with our own metaphor
We want to share our dreams
But all point the finger
Say the other ones sleeping
Lonely gods and spoiled kings yet can’t make sense of anything
Too afraid to care, scared we’ll be left behind holding nothing
Are you afraid of failing, I am
Are you afraid of falling, I am
We’re not so different, you and me
But I just don’t know anymore
Because we’ve all fallen in love with our own metaphor
We want to share our dreams
But all point the finger
Say the other ones sleeping
I’m talking to you with my hand on the mirror
I’m talking to you maybe one day you’ll hear
I think you know I’m here maybe that’s just me
But I just don’t know anymore
Because we’ve all fallen in love with our own metaphor
We want to share our dreams
But all point the finger
Say the other ones sleeping
This poem is enchanting. I feel like I’m walking through a fairy tale with a twist here. It’s wonderful.
